Original Mills:

The site of Lanterman's Mill has seen several mills over the years. The first was constructed in 1799, followed by a second in 1823. Both were destroyed by floods.
The Current Mill: The current structure was built in 1845-1846 by German Lanterman and his brother-in-law. It was the third mill on the site and was used primarily as a gristmill, grinding grains like corn, wheat, and buckwheat.
Closure and Restoration: The mill ceased operations in 1888. It was later purchased by Mill Creek Park and restored in the 1980s. Today, it operates as a historic museum and educational site.
Key Features of Lanterman's Mill:

Water-Powered: The mill is powered by a waterwheel, harnessing the energy of Mill Creek.
Historic Machinery: Visitors can see original milling equipment from the 19th century in operation.
Covered Bridge: The mill is connected to a covered bridge, adding to its picturesque appeal.
Museum: The mill houses a museum with exhibits on local history and the milling process.
Lanterman's Mill is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a glimpse into the region's past and a unique educational experience.

Testimonials

"I've been enjoying Mike's photos online for years. His photos have a way of making things very familiar to me more beautiful than I remember. They bring me a lot of joy. He helps me appreciate the beauty around here. I finally own one of "Tree Farm Trail" photos; now I have the beauty in my home. Mike takes an ordinary, familiar landscape and makes it absolutely beautiful."
